5 things

I don't normally make personal posts, but I have to admit, when folks on my friends' list share the things in their lives that are making them happy, it makes me happy, too.

So here's 5 things that are making me happy!

  1. Fandom! Specifically, SPN. I know there are negative vibes out there somewhere, but I don't venture out where negative energy flows, so I just wallow in the happy! From the S6 gag reel to the latest music video by [livejournal.com profile] ash48 to the latest Fusion!verse fic by [livejournal.com profile] ratherastory to the incredible and ever-growing Supernatural Wiki and the crazy fun of Duck Nation to the fact that season 7 starts up soon! and the available prompts at [livejournal.com profile] spn_summergen and how much I ♥ [livejournal.com profile] hoodie_time and [livejournal.com profile] ohsam and [livejournal.com profile] spn_littlebro... I can't help but wallow in happiness!

  2. It's September! I have always loved September! Now, rather than springtime, always feels like new beginnings to me. Like anything is possible. Maybe it's a little because new TV shows always premiered in September when I was growing up... but I think it's more because I loved school and couldn't wait to learn new things. Plus, it just dropped 25 degrees this weekend - yay! Also, I love the US Open tennis tournament with a passion! I love the intensity, the drama and emotions and how much of a role character plays in the strategy and progress of the match. And, yes, I love the sheer athleticism and the way their sweat-soaked shirts cling to their shoulder muscles and six-pack abs *g*. This year I have lots of favorites, so there's no anxiety that my hero will lose. (Well, Mardy Fish just did, but I have lots of heroes.)

  3. My job! I know - what? Whose job would come up on their list of 5 favorite things? I will confess, I worked really hard to get where I am today, but I am lucky enough to say that it paid off. I have colleagues whose company I enjoy, I have a boss I get along with, I have work that is not only challenging in a satisfying way, but I'm better at it than anyone else and they know it. I have flexibility with hours and can work from home when I want... I am really, really blessed.

  4. Family! In August I got to see everyone in my family! My Mom in a nursing home in NY. A sister in NY. My brother and another sister in Massachusetts. Another sister in Wisconsin. Then I rented a lake cottage, crammed 11 people into 3 bedrooms, and spent a week with my daughter, my son and his wife and 3 boys, and my other son and his wife and 2 little girls. Best Vacation Ever! It was so awesome I'm willing to confess here that yes, I have grandkids. I graduated college at 20 and started young, okay?

  5. And lastly? I can't think of anything more wonderful (literally) than when a six-month old baby wakes up in her crib and sees you and *smiles*!

Hope you're all as happy as I am!
